Day 49 – Week 7 – 7 mins

So, while going for my second-ever-bike-ride-in-a-million-years today, I decided I should actually embrace the rather bumpy riverside track we were travelling along, instead of whinging about it.  My bike does not have particularly good suspension, and I was being jolted around all over the place, as we trundled along.  But, as I was feeling the vibrations shoot through me, I decided it was kind of like having my own personal power plate – you know, those machines people are standing on at the gym, which vibrate away all the fat in their thighs.  All those crazy people paying a fortune for gym membership, when all you have to do is get yourself a bike and ride along the tow path of the River Thames.  If only they knew!

So yes – I’m pleased to say, I now consider myself a regular cyclist – having got myself in the saddle two weekends in a row!

But back to the basics.  I decided to venture outside this morning, and it seems I wasn’t the only one. While going for my gentle five minute jog around the block, I passed three other people doing the same thing. Though, if I was to be honest, they WERE moving quite a bit quicker than I was.  But nevertheless, I was pleased to see I wasn’t the only crazy one exercising on a Sunday morning.

I did of course do my two minutes of stretching as well. And then, after a shower and sneaking back into bed, I discovered my fella didn’t even know I’d gone, and didn’t believe me when I told him I’d been out for a run.

I will have to make a little bit more noise next time….

Day 48 – Week 7 – 7 mins

Five minutes of arms and two minutes of stretching this morning.

Always a little tougher to do on a weekend, when you quite fancy a lie in bed. But somehow managed to summon up some will power and get myself up and dressed.

I can’t say it was the most enthusiastic and inspiring of performances, but the deed was done, and was able to get on with the rest of my day knowing there is one more tick on the board.

Day 47 – Week 7 – 7 mins

Very tired.

Been a long week, and have had a glass of wine or two.

Back on the bosu this morning for five minutes, and two minutes of stretching.

Just realised I will soon have done 50 days of exercise.

That really is something to celebrate. Never in my life have I done such a thing.  Something’s working.

Have a great weekend.

See you back in the exercise gear tomorrow morning. No turning back now….

Day 46 – Week 7 – 7 mins

Lately, I seem to be hungry all the time.

Is that a result of this exercise? I mean, really, I’m not doing that much exercise – surely it shouldn’t be making me so hungry. Perhaps it just means my metabolism has gone up a notch. That would be good. But not if I feel compelled to eat a bar of chocolate every afternoon because I am completely ravenous! How is that fair??

5 mins of arms and 2 mins of stretching this morning….not outside on the street mind you, people would really be looking at me oddly if I did that. Had to settle for indoors today, despite the lovely weather….

Day 45 – Week 7 – 7 mins

Oh joy of joy – it WASN’T raining this morning, so I went for a little jaunt outside. I have now discovered that it takes almost exactly five minutes to jog slowly around my block. And it really was a slow jog – because remember, this first five minutes of exercise of the day is just a warm up – we are getting that blood flowing after lying dormant through the night.

It was actually really lovely to get outside and breath in the fresh air.
And as it was nice and early, there weren’t many people around. Though have you noticed, that if you are out on the streets in the early morning, people say hello – but if it was an hour later, they’d ignore you! Why is that?

Then back inside for my two minutes of stretching, and I felt well proud of myself. It was exactly what was needed. Might as well take advantage of any good weather and get outside when possible.

Half an hour after my jog, it started raining – so think I got lucky!
