Day 42 – Week 6 – 6 mins
I have just got back from a bike ride along the river, which was interrupted by a few hours in our local riverside pub.
What you need to keep in mind is that it is very, very, many years since I have ridden a bicycle, which therefore involved using muscles that I believe have lain dormant for all of that time.
This is evident by the fact that after a one hour bike ride, then a long, lazy stop off at said gorgeous little pub where we met up with some friends, I was physically incapable of sitting back on the bike for the final little spurt home. There are obviously muscles in your buttocks that have no other purpose in life other than to sit you down on a bicycle – why else would they protest so loudly when suddenly forced into use! It’s going to be interesting to see how I feel in the morning.
The bike ride was in addition to the five mins arm warm up and one minute stretching this morning, so am well pleased with my level of activity for the day. Now, if only I could have a day off on the ‘morrow……..

Day 41 – Week 6 – 6 mins
Things were at great risk of going wrong this morning. We had a drastic change of routine. My fella woke up before I did!
I can’t tell you how much this threw me. Normally I sneak out of bed while he’s fast asleep, do my minutes, have a shower, then jump back into bed with a cup of tea for us both.
That’s what is supposed to happen!
But no – he’s slightly jetlagged, so was wide awake before I was. And when I woke up, he’s already got the kettle on, and is chatting away. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET OUT OF BED, WHEN A GORGEOUS MAN WANTS TO BRING ME TEA IN BED???
It took massive willpower I tell you. I told him the tea would have to wait until the minutes were done, and off I went….
Five mins on the bosu, and one minute of stretching…
And then I most definitely enjoyed that cup of tea…..

Day 40 – Week 6 – 6 mins
Everywhere I go these days, I’m hearing about consistency. I’ve read it two or three times in the last week, heard it discussed in podcasts I’ve listened to, it’s even come up in conversations that have had nothing to do with this blog.
But the message is clear. The way to achieve anything is to do it little and often.
And who am I to disagree? It’s working for me. I’m already feeling my legs get stronger, there’s a little definition in my arms, and I believe I’m even beginning to get a little movement on the scales. The dial was flirting with 145 pounds this morning, three pounds down on my return from Ireland.
This morning I did my five minute arm warm up and one minute stretching, and now that’s 40 days of exercise under my belt. It’s consistent, and that’s why the changes are beginning to happen. I just can’t wait to find out how it’s going to feel in another 40 days.

Day 39 – Week 6 – 6 mins
5 minutes on the bosu and one minute stretching this morning.
Not a lot else to add today. My fella has just got back from a ten day trip away and we have a lot to catch up on…..
No time for blogging….

Day 38 – Week 6 – 6 mins
Some days are just a lot harder than others.
Things didn’t start well this morning, when for the life of me, I couldn’t remember whether I had done cardio the day before, or strength. This of course meant I couldn’t remember what I was supposed to do today.
I’m serious, it took me several minutes to figure it out. I nearly had to go and look up this blog to remember!
Anyway – got their eventually – and did my arm exercises. And even that was hard. I have to say, I have pathetic arms. I even give up on drying my hair with a blow-dryer before it’s finished because my arms get tired. So, when I do my arm exercises I can always feel it by the time I get to the end – a little burning in the muscle, and always the temptation to put the medicine ball down and give up. But this morning – I don’t know what was going on. Even after one minute my muscles were burning. That’s not usually the case. But I struggled on, with little baby rests in between. Man – it will be good when I no longer have pathetic arms. And just think how much better my hair will look!!
