Day 209 – Week 30 – 30 mins
It was looking pretty wintery when I went out for my jog this morning, and there was a bit of slipping and sliding going on, as I made my way through the mud which forms some of the more well-used paths in my park. Much more of that ahead I suspect!
But all went well – my legs are starting to feel pretty strong – and that was another 300ish calories burned for the week. It’s so fortunate I can make up any loss of calories with substantial red wine intake over the following hours. Can’t be leaving myself short….

Day 208 – Week 30 – 30 mins (22)
Oh I started out with the best of intentions to do my full 30 minutes of stretching and strengthening today. But at 22 mins I just suddenly decided I was too hot and sweaty and I had a brain and body shutdown.
That was it. I just decided I had had enough. Lucky I got through the 22 minutes really.
I’ve noticed this tends to happen when I have had a short workout the day before. And given that I only did one minute the day before – well – you can’t get much shorter than that.
It’s as if having had a short workout the day before, I have to kind of ‘build up’ again back to the level I should be at. My brain just won’t accept leaping up to 30 minutes straight away, it has to do it in a couple of stages. It is saying to me, “Don’t worry, I know what you are playing at, you’re trying to get me to do that exercise business again. Oh well, I’ll do it, but I’m doing it on MY terms. I’m just going to take my time and mosey on in there.”
I guess that’s not really a problem, as long as I get there!
So – perhaps that’s a pattern. I go along merrily as I should. Then I have to have a short day for some reason (usually because of a very early start at work), and then it takes a couple of big steps to get back to where I should be.
I’m not too worries by any of that, given the whole idea of this is just to keep going, and not stop completely for any length of time….if that’s how it has to be, then so be it! Don’t you worry brain…I’ve got you sussed…

Day 207 – Week 30 – 30 mins (1)
OK – had to go for the bare minimum this morning I’m afraid – just the one minute.
It was through no lack of will on my part, just a complete lack of time. It was the last day of a big project at work, and I knew I had to get in there as early as humanly possible otherwise I’d still be stuck there at midnight.
But never let it be said that I haven’t done my 1 minute. It was a fast and furious jumping about on the bosu, then into the shower and off to work.
You know how it isĀ – when a girl’s gotta work, she’s gotta work. I tried to make up for it by walking up the escalators in the underground. Not quite the same I guess….

Day 206 – Week 30 – 30 mins
A very late night last night, which meant I had to break my routine of early mornings today. I really needed my sleep!
So – it was a quick five minute job with the stretching and strengthening, the best I could manage today.

Day 205 – Week 30 – 30 mins
Another early morning run today. I’m really getting the hang of this now.
But I discovered something about my running today.
It is much better to run with your head up!! You know, I hadn’t realised that when I run, I am generally looking at my feet. What a crazy thing to do? There I am, running through these lovely gardens, and what am I doing? Just looking to make sure one foot goes in front of the other – instead of looking up to enjoy the gorgeous autumn scenery.
So – have made a promise to myself to try and look to the heavens rather than the earth a bit more when I run from now on.
