Day 84 – Week 12 – 12 mins
Well – technically I didn’t manage to do my exercise this morning. It was about 1.00 in the afternoon before I finally got myself outside to go for a jog. But – it was still the first thing I did after getting up properly. (Yes, yes, it was quite a Sunday lie-in!)
And wouldn’t you know it! After it being a lovely morning, I step outside in my exercise gear, finally ready to go and there’s a smattering of big fat drops of rain. Oh, it would have been so easy to turn around and go back inside at that moment – and if I didn’t know you were waiting in the wings to see whether I would crumble – I probably would have done. But instead I braved the tropical weather, and took off anyway.
And a good thing I did. Despite some ominous looking clouds, there was no more rain, and I was home 10 minutes later, pretty much dry. Did my two minutes of stretching and breathed a sigh of relief that I had once again thwarted the Devil of Resistance.
Thirteen minutes tomorrow…

Day 83 – Week 12 – 12 mins
It was a good morning this morning, and I managed to get my strength minutes out of the way in far better style than the pitiful attempt the other day. Those lunges are still hard work though – can’t imagine ever getting used to them.
I really go through cycles in terms of feeling good and then rubbish about doing this exercise. But I guess the thing is, if you can just make sure you don’t go backwards during the rubbish part of the cycle, then you will hopefully move a few steps forward during the good times. But that is the tough part. You really do need to make yourself do the bare minimum, even when you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, and you don’t feel you are going to achieve anything – because in the end, the cycle will carry on, and in a day or two you will feel better and be able to carry on properly.

Day 82 – Week 12 – 12 mins
I was in much better form this morning, though I wasn’t able to go and do my run outside. Just as I woke up, the heavens opened and we had a huge deluge of rain, clearing the air after several stifling days in a row. So, figuring it wasn’t a good idea to go out in it, I pulled out the bosu.
Despite the rain, it was still pretty warm, and after 10 minutes of jigging about on the bosu, I had certainlyworked up a sweat. Then two minutes of stretching and into a nice cool shower. So – back on track after that little glitch yesterday,

Day 81 – Week 12 – 12 mins (3)
Ok – this morning, I was rubbish. I was still a bit sore from the lunges, which didn’t help, but I was generally just rubbish. It was as if my body refused to cooperate. I got changed and started doing my warm up – but after three minutes, I just gave up. I’d lost the will to carry on.
And that was that. But I guess there are days when you just can’t do it. And today was one of them. Still – three minutes, is better than nothing, and I can’t say I didn’t give it a go,

Day 80 – Week 12 – 12 mins
Am feeling those lunges this morning. I only did a minute’s worth yesterday, but it’s enough to feel them today in those buttock muscles. This is a good thing. I like to feel a little bit of an ache – makes me feel like I’ve done something.
Today, as expected, jumping onto the bosu with both feet really did the job in raising my heart rate. It made me think about jumping. As adults, I don’t think we really ever do it – proper both feet jumping is perhaps something that remains in the realms of kids’ play. Have you tried skipping lately? I used to use a skipping rope all the time as a child – every recess and lunch time at school spent in complicated skipping games with groups of girls – but skipping with both feet together now I’m an adult is really hard! And tiring…
All the more reason to do it I guess – got to stop those kids showing us up….
