Day 260 – Week 38 – 38 mins

I appear to be very fickle when it comes to exercise.

For a while I much preferred the cardio to the strength work – so was managing my full amount of minutes when I got to run about, but couldn’t bring myself to do so when it came to a strength day.

But now, it is the opposite.

Today I was quite happy to do my full quota of strength and stretching, but am dreading getting out and going for a run tomorrow. It’s probably something to do with the rubbish weather, but still, I am surprised at this strange turn of events.

Let’s hope the rain stops and I DO get a chance to run around the park for New Year’s Eve…

Day 258 – Week 38 – 38 mins

Yep. That’s a full 38 minutes of strengthening and stretching today, new headphones on, listening to webinars. I LOVE being able to combine my exercise with other pursuits.

I realised it’s been a good while since I’ve done the full quota of this, and so I was pretty surprised that I felt quite a bit stronger than last time I did some of these exercises – like the dreaded Plank. I certainly wouldn’t say it was easy, but it wasn’t quite the struggle it normally is.

Maybe the little rest did me some good.

Day 236 – Week 34 – 34 mins

Note to self:

It is not a good idea to wait until the fire is lit and the boyfriend is opening a bottle of wine to remember that you haven’t done your stretching and strengthening for the day.

Bugger.

You have to refuse the wine and then do your exercise in front of a roaring fire – because the only place big enough to do any exercise in a small London flat is in the living room – where the fire is. And it’s not like you can put the fire out for the half hour that the room is needed for a makeshift gym.

It wasn’t that bad really – but imagine if it had been a cardio day!

Day 228 – Week 33 – 33 mins

Up nice and early to get my stretching and strengthening done before 7.30am when my fella was due back from an eight day work trip on the other side of the world!

Last thing I wanted was for him to arrive and me to say ‘Hi honey – glad to see you home – I’m just off to put my trainers on – you make yourself comfortable with a cup of tea!’

Nope – exercise was all done – I was showered and back in bed with said cup of tea by the time he walked in the door.

And the best thing is – now that he’s home -  he’s found the BBC again!

Thank goodness for that….
