Day 169 – Week 25 – 25 mins
My back is much better today, and I felt fine to go for a run at lunch time. Added my one extra minute for the week, and really felt it – in a good way though. It wasn’t exhausting, but I felt I was really doing some work.
I was talking to a colleague at work who is training for a half marathon with her boyfriend- she has gone from not really being a runner, to managing to run for an hour at a time in a very short time. And it does make me wonder if I’m doing it TOO slowly, boring myself into not getting fit. But somehow, I still think it is the way I need to do it. I’m just not the kind of person who can push my body that far, that fast….
Maybe in about a year’s time I’ll be ready for that half marathon…

Day 167 – Week 24 – 24 mins
It was surprisingly easy to get up this morning and go for my run, despite it being a Sunday. It was a beautiful day – one to be treasured with winter on its way – and it was great being out in it. It won’t be long before the dark mornings will be making the bosu the primary option for cardio right throughout the winter.
The last few days I have felt a little bit stronger, but still not seeing any change on the scales. If anything I have put on a kilo or two, which is less than encouraging.
BUT – we’re not even halfway through this experiment yet, so there’s still hope ahead.

Day 163 – Week 24 – 24 mins
Today I decided to take the opportunity of a lunch break at work to go for my run today – and I was glad I did. It’s always great to get out of the office, and the nice cool weather made it a lot easier than on previous runs.
And do I feel at all embarrassed as I run past little enclaves of smokers standing around outside just where I need to run? Not at all – I feel virtuous and holy as I embrace my inner healthiness and hide my laboured breath!!
Run Lola Run….

Day 155 – Week 23 – 23 mins
Yay! Managed a proper 23 minutes this morning, with a run around the local park. I wasn´t the only one there at 6.30 in the morning – a couple of friendly fellows who had not quite made it home the night before had settled themselves on a park bench, so they cheered me on…
I am struggling a little to type this, as I am using a German keyboard. They like to put their y´s and z´s in different places. I have found it is very important to proofread!! Their light switches also seem to work back to front to the English and they have strange little ledges in their toilet bowls. Those are my observations of German life so far!

Day 151 – Week 22 – 22 mins
MUCH better this morning. Got myself outside to do my full 22 minute cardio workout. There’s not really any kind of substantial park around here, just a very small suburban one – but it had a ledge that I could use as a step to get my heart rate up, and I had a little bit of a jog.
I am looking forward to it being Saturday tomorrow. I won’t be working and will have the chance to do some proper exploring of this great city. Expect some tired and weary feet tomorrow…
