Day 221 – Week 32 – 32 mins (1)
I’m going to pretend today didn’t happen.
I am going to bed and am going to have today again, tomorrow – and this time, I’m going to jig about for a full 32 minutes!

Day 220 – Week 32 – 32 mins
I am very proud of myself for doing my full 32 minutes today. It seems harder and harder to achieve my full quota lately, so I am celebrating whenever I manage it.
They key to success? Letting your mind let go of all the other million and one things you need to do, breathing deeply and giving yourself that time to concentrate on your health and fitness.
Oh – I know it’s hard – as you exercise away in your living room, thinking you should be in the shower already, because you could do with being at work a little earlier today, and then you notice a big smear on a photo frame on your mantlepiece and you think how much you’d like to clean it off, and then that reminds you that you need to buy a new photo frame because you have that photo of your niece and nephew that is still sitting on the shelf frameless, and then you remind yourself you have to take some fish out of the freezer for dinner when you next go into the kitchen, and in fact you really should write a shopping list as there’s a few things you need on the way home, and you musn’t forget that letter you need to post on your way to the train station this morning, and the DVDs that have to be taken to the video shop….
Sound familiar? No wonder you are tempted to cut your exercise short and get on with some of those jobs spinning around in your brain…
But don’t….
Be still….
And give yourself a 32 minute investment in your health. Remember what we said at the beginning of all this? For this year – doing this exercise is the only thing you absolutely MUST do each day….
Breath deeply and cocoon yourself from everything else that is demanding your attention….

Day 169 – Week 25 – 25 mins
My back is much better today, and I felt fine to go for a run at lunch time. Added my one extra minute for the week, and really felt it – in a good way though. It wasn’t exhausting, but I felt I was really doing some work.
I was talking to a colleague at work who is training for a half marathon with her boyfriend- she has gone from not really being a runner, to managing to run for an hour at a time in a very short time. And it does make me wonder if I’m doing it TOO slowly, boring myself into not getting fit. But somehow, I still think it is the way I need to do it. I’m just not the kind of person who can push my body that far, that fast….
Maybe in about a year’s time I’ll be ready for that half marathon…

Day 151 – Week 22 – 22 mins
MUCH better this morning. Got myself outside to do my full 22 minute cardio workout. There’s not really any kind of substantial park around here, just a very small suburban one – but it had a ledge that I could use as a step to get my heart rate up, and I had a little bit of a jog.
I am looking forward to it being Saturday tomorrow. I won’t be working and will have the chance to do some proper exploring of this great city. Expect some tired and weary feet tomorrow…

Day 146 – Week 21 – 21 mins (15)
Well – am gradually improving on my cardio days, managed 15 of my 21 minutes today. With a bit of luck I will be back on track properly next week.
But – I have a new challenge. This afternoon I fly to Berlin for work for two weeks. I will be in a new environment, a slightly unpredictable work schedule, and work colleagues who can drink me under the table! It will indeed be interesting to see if I can manage to keep this going, no doubt with some days where I only manage the minimum.
But as usual – the aim is to do SOMETHING every day, even if is not the full quota….
I may also have patchy internet access…so forgive me if you get a few posts all at once, and nothing for a couple of days…
Wish me luck,
Suzi
