Day 215 – Week 31 – 31 mins (22)
Oh it was truly stormy today, and I was really disappointed I couldn’t pop outside for my jog. I’ve been fortunate to haveĀ a pretty good run of lovely weather lately, and have got used to being able to make it outdoors.
I am truly surprised that I am disappointed when I cannot go outside to run. I’m not kidding myself that it is the ‘not being able to run’ that I am disappointed about. But if it’s a choice being going out for a run, or staying inside and jigging about some other way, like the bosu, I prefer the outdoors every time.
This is a direct contrast to how I used to feel before starting this experiment, and I have no idea why it’s happened. But as we all know, getting out in the fresh air is a good thing, so I guess it is to be encouraged.
So today – I had to pull out the bosu for the first time in a while and jig about on that to get my heart rate up. I managed about 22 minutes before getting bored and deciding to call it a day. I think I need to pull out some great 80’s rock anthems to get me a little more motivated…any good suggestions?

Day 214 – Week 31 – 31 mins
Actually enjoyed working slowly and steadily through my full 31 minutes of stretching and strengthening today.
Some things are getting much easier – like the crunches, and toe-touching. Others are still pretty tough, like my mini-planks. I can still only do about 35 seconds for each one, but I guess at some stage it will improve.
My routine is starting to include a bit of light weights work, with a couple of small dumbbells I had lying around. And I’m pleased to see a bit more muscle definition in my arms – though thankfully, Arnie Schwarzenegger I am not!

Day 212 – Week 31 – 31 mins
Well at least I managed a full 31 minutes today – though now that there are 31 exercises to remember, I often have a bit of a blank about what to do next. There I am, moving along at a nice steady pace through the various exercises, when I realise I have eight minutes left on the timer, but can only think of three exercises left to do!
Then I have to stop the timer before I panic, and go through it all again in my head and try and remember what it is I have forgotten. If that fails, it means pulling out this ‘exercise at home’ book I use for inspiration.
Then, with a bit of luck, I see the ones I have forgotten, curse my memory, wonder how on earth I could forget The Plank, set the timer going again and then finish it off.
No one said I’d have to exercise my memory as well as my body as part of this experiment.

Day 210 – Week 31 – 31 mins
I did my full 31 minutes this morning – but boy it was tough. From the very first lift of the medicine ball above my head, it was hard work. It was if my muscles were united in opposition to the cause! It was as if I was asking my body to do something it had never done before.
But – I persevered – in a somewhat lacklustre way and got the job done. Not sure how much good it did me, but can only hope things will get better. This happens every now and again, I just go all weak and delicate.
Can’t explain it….

Day 207 – Week 30 – 30 mins (1)
OK – had to go for the bare minimum this morning I’m afraid – just the one minute.
It was through no lack of will on my part, just a complete lack of time. It was the last day of a big project at work, and I knew I had to get in there as early as humanly possible otherwise I’d still be stuck there at midnight.
But never let it be said that I haven’t done my 1 minute. It was a fast and furious jumping about on the bosu, then into the shower and off to work.
You know how it isĀ – when a girl’s gotta work, she’s gotta work. I tried to make up for it by walking up the escalators in the underground. Not quite the same I guess….
