Day 205 – Week 30 – 30 mins
Another early morning run today. I’m really getting the hang of this now.
But I discovered something about my running today.
It is much better to run with your head up!! You know, I hadn’t realised that when I run, I am generally looking at my feet. What a crazy thing to do? There I am, running through these lovely gardens, and what am I doing? Just looking to make sure one foot goes in front of the other – instead of looking up to enjoy the gorgeous autumn scenery.
So – have made a promise to myself to try and look to the heavens rather than the earth a bit more when I run from now on.

Day 203 – Week 30 – 30 mins
Well – a proper half hour of running about today. That feels like a real achievement.
I had a bit of a change of routine today, as I return to a normal five day week at work, albeit one that means I don’t have to leave the house until 10.00am. This means I actually have time for exercise every morning, even getting outside for a run once it gets light.
So – off I trotted at half seven, once the sun was pretty much up – the first time I’ve been out so early for a while. And it was one of those gorgeous, crisp autumn days, where you couldn’t help but enjoy being out in the “brisk” fresh air. And really – it put me in a pretty good mood for most of the day…
Why don’t you try it….

Day 197 – Week 29 – 29 mins
I left it very late to go for my run today – it was about four o’clock before I got out the door. And shock, horror! It felt like it was getting dark!!
With the clocks going back at the weekend, and my first day of being outside at that time, I had completely forgotten that it would start getting dark so early. The weather is so nice and warm I have been in denial that winter is almost here. It really means I am going to have to start making sure I get out earlier for those jogs.
I, of course, felt all healthy and virtuous after my run, but the trouble with doing it so late in the day, is that you get fewer hours of feeling healthy and virtuous before it’s the next day and you have to do it all again!

Day 195 – Week 28 – 28 mins
Who hoo! A full 28 minutes today.
Actually, I never really have a problem doing the full amount when it’s a day when I can go for a jog. That surprises me, because in general, the idea of jogging is not something I am particularly attracted to.
BUT, at least once I’m out there, I do the full amount. I guess once you’ve run a certain distance from home, there’s not much you can do except run back. It’s not as if I’m going to get the bus home.
So, I’d like to say I’m back on track, but I doubt that is the case. I am though, quite proud of that fact I haven’t drifted too far off the path…

Day 185 – Week 27 – 27 mins
Oh, I did not feel like going for a run this morning. No particular reason – I was just very comfortably working away on my laptop in bed, and could quite happily have stayed there all day. My defence for this attitude is that Winston Churchill used to work a lot from bed, and he did all right for himself!
But eventually, I couldn’t fight the guilt any longer, and I got myself up and dressed. Of course, the run itself wasn’t that bad once I was out there, in fact it was quite pleasant.
And it is a good thing I went. The next three days are going to be hellish, with very long days at work and no opportunity to go out for a run at lunch time. I will be leaving the house at 6.30 every morning, so I suspect I will only manage around ten minutes of jigging about each day before I go.
So be warned – there’ll be no activity records broken here over the next few days!!
