Day 174 – Week 25 – 25 mins
Ok – that’s twice now I have been able to do my abs without feeling like screaming in pain about thirty seconds into it. I managed a whole minute of crunches today without that moment where it feels like someone is prodding a spade into your stomach. This is real, tangible progress.
I DO however, think that I have very slow learning muscles. It has taken me nearly six months to manage a minute of abs without pain, I would have hoped it wouldn’t have taken quite that long. Who knows – another six months in and I might manage to lift my tiny weights above my head for more than 15 seconds!! It seems to take continuous coaxing and encouragement to get my muscles to do what muscles should do, but in the end, I think I may just manage to convince them….

Day 85 – Week 13 – 13 mins
Feeling pretty good this morning. Added in another minute of abs, which I’m sure to start feeling a little bit later in the day. I have pathetic stomach muscles.
And though I don’t seem to be losing any weight, am starting to feel significantly stronger – especially in my legs. Now, I wonder how long it takes before the muscle starts to take over the cellulite! That would be a good result…

Day 50 – Week 8 – 8 mins
I quite like being able to make a decision about how exactly I’m going to spend my new minute each week. Should I spend it filing my nails, reading an historic novel…chatting on the phone? Of course not – I’m going to spend it to the betterment of my health and body. This week – I am going to spend it looking after my abs. Well – making a start anyway.
That’s right. As a strength day today, rather than a cardio day, I chose to spend my eight minutes thus: five mins of arm execises, one minute of crunches and two minutes of stretching. For cardio tomorrow, I will have to come up with something new to do on the bosu, and this time, it really needs to get my heart rate up. Suzi
Day 2 – Week 1 – 1 minute
Harder to get out of bed this morning. Isn’t that crazy? I only have to get up and do one minute, yet still there is resistance. But after 15 minutes of arguing with myself, I managed to get myself into the bathroom, weighed myself (146 pounds, 66 kgs) and got changed.
Today I did one minute of arm work, with a small medicine ball.
The plan is to alternate between cardio one day, and other stuff (like push ups, abs, arm and leg strengthening, squats etc) on the next. That way we get a good balance.
Then in the shower, and back into bed with breakfast and a cup of tea feeling virtuous. Who knew just one minute could bring such pleasure!
