Day 354 – Week 51 – 51 mins (30)
Thirty mins of stretching and strengthening today…but sorry to say, am not a great deal more stretched than when I started on this caper. I think far more serious work is required if I’m ever going to touch my toes comfortably.

Day 353 – Week 51 – 51 mins (45)
Ok, that just about killed me, doing that extra five minutes of running from last time – but there’s no time to be adding just one minute a week as we get to the end of the challenge. It would be good if I managed at least one jog at the full 52 minutes before the end.
I have to tell you – I AM looking forward to the end…I feel as if I have been doing this forever.

Day 352 – Week 50 – 50 mins (20)
Just the 20 minutes of stretching and strengthening today. A little mini strength work out – enough just to keep the muscles alive and functioning, which is better than letting them sloth about like they do for the rest of the day….

Day 351 – Week 50 – 50 mins (40)
Forty minutes for my run this morning – is that a record so far? Think it might be close. Of course you DO know that doesn’t mean 40 minutes of actual running – I don’t want you to be under any illusions here. It includes 5 mins walking warm up, 5 mins walking cool down and 5 minutes stretching. And for the in between bits I run three minutes and walk for one.
Even so – I think it may be more than I have done before, so that’s pretty good.

Day 350 – Week 50 – 50 mins (30)
Oh my goodness – have just realised I only have 15 days to go.
Of course, it doesn’t feel quite as satisfying as it would have done if I’d managed to keep up with the programme and was happily running for a full 50 minutes every day, but I am still pretty pleased with myself for keeping going despite the setbacks.
Today – I quite happily pottered along with 30 minutes of stretching and strengthening. I am beginning to think the stretching might be the most important part of all this….after a few days off any attempt to touch my toes reminds me I am not a 21-year old anymore. Who know how rubbish I’d be if I stopped stretching at all……
