Day 336 – Week 48 – 48 mins (26)

I couldn’t let myself get away with it again, and with the sun shining, it really wasn’t so hard to get myself up and out of bed.

All was quiet in the park, and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom – and it was a treat to see them for the short period they are out.

And of course, I felt much better for the rest of the day knowing I had done what I had set out to do. Working my way back towards my full number of minutes – I just might make it by the time we get to the end!

Day 335 – Week 48 – 48 mins (0)

I really could have got up and gone for a run this morning, but I didn’t.

No matter how hard I tried to convince myself it was a good idea, I couldn’t get myself out of bed.

And this is what happens when you get out of the habit of exercising regularly. It’s all too easy to listen to your own excuses.  The ‘I’ll do it tomorrow’ conversation, or ‘It’s just one day’ chat you have with yourself.

Despite the fact I have just over  a month to go of this experiment, I was prepared to give it up for the day, just like that.

What hope do I have of exercising as much as I should for the rest of my life? Is it always going to be this much of a struggle?

Day 334 – Week 48 – 48 mins (20)

I was sore today.

Really, I have hardly done anything, but I was struggling to lift the medicine ball above my head, and my legs were aching. Just goes to show how much strength you lose in a short time.

But while I was trying to bend my body into shapes it didn’t want to go into this morning, it just reinforced how important it is to get your body to do a bit of hard work. Look how rubbish it becomes at the first opportunity?

I definitely have some catching up to do, but I’m grateful for the reminder of how easy it is for your body to settle into a life of inactivity. It is just SOOO much easier not to do anything….

Day 333 – Week 48 – 48 mins (22)

Well,  planes are back up in the air – but it was still a joy to be out in the fresh, Spring air for a short jog this morning.

Thankfully that hard, dark winter is already feeling like a long time ago. It’s picnic weather instead…

Day 322 – Week 48 – 48 mins (17)

Ok – so today I remembered! Seventeen minutes of stretching and strengthening. More stretching than strengthening I have to say – it’s going to take a little bit of time to build up my strength. It is amazing how much you lose in a month.

But – I have made a start at least…
