Day 319 – Week 47 – 47 mins (47)

Took a bit of working up to, but managed my full 47 mins of stretching and strengthening.

Very time consuming, but it does feel good in the end to get all those muscles working…

Day 318 – Week 47 – 47 mins (30)

It’s very tempting NOT to go for a run when you are at work.

I mean there’s a lot of rigmarole. You have to remember to take everything with you – towel, heart-rate monitor (Ok, I guess you could do it without that), clean underwear…it’s a lot to remember when you are stumbling out of the house first thing in the morning.

And of course, once you are there and there’s a few people slinking off for a nice pub-lunch, you look at that sorry gym bag and think…maybe I should just go to the pub instead. But then you think – but I got myself so organised, didn’t forget anything, and managed not to lose it on the hour and a quarter commute on crowded underground trains into work…it would be a shame to waste it.

And so, you take a deep breath, wave the others off to the pub, and go and get changed for a half hour jog along the river on a Spring day. I mean – you feel good and everything – but it’s not quite the same as a fish and chips and a shandy on a sunny afternoon….

Day 317 – Week 47 – 47 mins (20)

Twenty mins of strength and stretching before work….

Enough to remember my muscles are there…

Guess what guys? There’s only five minutes between now and the end of the challenge…that’s what’s keeping me going. I am looking forward to that first truly guilt-free, exercise-free day….
