Day 250 – Week 36 – 36 mins
It was something like one degree today, when I set out for my jog. A stunningly beautiful, crystal clear but freezing day.
But, taking my queue from other brave souls I have seen hitting the streets, I wore some fingerless gloves and a hat with my running gear, and you know, before long I was pretty toasty.
And somehow, the fear of slipping on some icy pavement does wonders for your heartrate, getting it up there in the right zone in record time.
This weeks total minute count is 121 minutes, down slightly on last week, which is a little disappointing. I averaged 17.28 minutes a day….

Day 249 – Week 36 – 36 mins (1)
A paltry one minute of stretching and strengthening today, really just a moving about of my arms with the medicine ball for a wee while….
Motivation level is, as you can see, zero.

Day 248 – Week 36 – 36 mins (20)
I am really struggling with the ‘getting up and exercising before doing anything else’ part of this experiment at the moment. I don’t know if it’s the cold, or the fact it’s the end of the year, or if I’ve just lost my motivation.
But this morning I made myself do it. I didn’t do my full 36 minutes, but I did 20, which wasn’t too bad. But the good thing was, I did it first thing on waking up. And when I got back in bed with my cup of tea after a shower, I remembered how good it felt to get some exercise out of the way early.
The fact that I’m finding it so difficult though, gives me new respect for those people who do this every day for years, in the pursuit of some sporting goal or another. When you think of swimmers who are in the pool at 5.00 every morning for an hour or two every day during their teenage years, or athletics hopefuls who train every day. It is a huge thing to motivate yourself to do it, and I would so love to have their fierce determination.
All I have to do it get up and get moving, it can’t be so hard….
