Day 94 – Week 14 – 14 mins
I think today might have been the hardest day so far. I woke up with a headache – not sure if it was just general tension (which I suspect you shouldn’t be waking up with!), dehydration, or a reaction to the glass of wine I had last night. But despite that – I didn’t think I had any excuse to not get outside and at least do my warm up walk, even if I couldn’t manage a run.
It took quite a bit of convincing myself, but finally got out there – and while I did the full routine – it was pretty tough. I definitely wasn’t quite my usual self. I had hoped gettting outside in the fresh air would cure the headache, but it didn’t, and I eventually had to sucumb to painkillers. But at least, the exercise got done…in a fashion.

Day 93 – Week 14 – 14 mins
It was a struggle again this morning – mainly because I got to bed too late and didn’t wake up with my usual energy.
But , I eventually managed to get myself up and did my 14 mins of strength work – an extra minute on my legs for this week.
It was all pretty half-hearted, but I like to think it is better than nothing. Hopefully at least it maintains the muscle for an extra day, instead of letting it go backwards for a day. I reckon there’s been a fair bit of forward movement over the last week, so one day of ‘maintenance’ won’t do any harm.

Day 92 – Week 14 – 14 mins
A new week, and another new minute to add to the bosu workout. This one involved some side leg raises while balancing on the bosu with the other leg. A lot harder than it sounds, and not particularly elegant – at least not the way I was struggling through it.
Still – it kept my heart rate up and I suspect it used some muscles in my legs I haven’t used before.
I’m still loving the bosu – it’s the only piece of exercise equipment I have ever used consistently.

Day 91 – Week 13 – 13 mins
Really hard to believe it has been three months that I have been doing this now. It has flown by. I’m a quarter of the way through this experiment. And so far I’m pretty happy with it. I’m just now starting to feel the benefits, and I figure it will just get better exponentially from here.
This morning, I did my strength routine with a minimum of fuss, even though it was a Sunday, then climbed gratefully back into bed with a cup of tea. Now I just have to figure out what I’m going to do with my extra minute on the bosu tomorrow morning.

Day 90 – Week 13 – 13 mins
OK. This is weird. I actually enjoyed going for my run this morning – despite the fact it was a Saturday, and that it started to rain as soon as I got out there. There was just something that seemed to work today. My legs felt stronger, I felt more in charge of my body somehow.
So, is this what happens? Is this why people actually enjoy exercise? I assume that when you are much fitter than me, the way I felt today is magnified. I don’t want to get too excited here – I am well aware it might all go backwards again tomorrow. But a glimpse of what it is all about now and again will hopefully be enough to make me carry on….
