Day 74 – Week 11 – 11 mins

A little cloudy this morning, but it was still enjoyable to get outside for a jog. Well – when I say ‘enjoyable’, it’s not the getting out of bed and getting myself out there that is enjoyable, but once outside, it really is worth it. I recommend you give it a go. And we’ve passed the summer solstice now, so it’s only going to start getting darker in the mornings – enjoy it while you can!

Did a five minute warm up jog – three minutes at a higher pace – and then dropped back for a minute. This is the building up of my interval workout, one minute at a time. Then two minutes of stretching, and that’s me done for the day.

Day 73 – Week 11 – 11 mins

It was hard work this morning. I had to stop and have a little rest halfway through my strength routine. Why is it that just when you feel like you are getting somewhere, you then feel like you’re taking a step backwards?

I cannot emphasise how much being accountable to someone is what keeps me going on this challenge. I would almost go as far as saying it is impossible to do it, without someone or something to answer to, like a blog. Without that, it is just far too easy to give yourself the day off. No-one will know, and you can always come up with a reason not to do it. I don’t know how long that lasts. I’m hoping that at some stage, I get that adrenaline rush that some people seem to get from exercise, and that will be enough to sustain me. Otherwise I may have to blog on this topic for the rest of my life!

If you want to be accountable, use this blog to do so. Comment every day if you need to – but have someone to answer to. I am convinced it is the only way to make it happen,

Day 72 – Week 11 – 11 mins

Lots of huffing and puffing on the bosu this morning, getting that heart rate to where it needed to be. And with my extra minute, I crossed over into burning just over 100 calories. Not a great deal I know, but I LOVE being able to measure it.

My legs are starting to feel a bit stronger, and there is an inkling of definition in my thighs….maybe things are starting to happen. Consistency is everything at this stage, no slacking off allowed…

Day 71 – Week 11 – 11 mins

Added one more minute to my strength routine and decided to go for some push ups – girly ones of course, you know, the ones you do on your knees. That’s quite enough for me at this stage I think.

I quite like Mondays, adding my new minute. It makes me feel like I’m making progress. And that’s what it is all about – tiny little amounts of progress, all designed to create the gorgeous, luscious body I am convinced will be waiting for me by the time I get to 52 minutes.

One tiny step at a time….consistency being the key.

Day 70 – Week 10 – 10 mins

I know this is ridiculous – but I think I may have spent a good hour or two arguing with myself about whether or not to get up and do my run this morning. I mean, it’s Sunday morning, I think I woke up the first time at about 5.30 and there’s no way I was getting up at 5.30 on a Sunday morning, so I turned over and went back to sleep. And then after that I kept waking up, going back to sleep, waking up again – trying to decide whether to get up and go for a run, OR have a cup of tea, read the paper, THEN go for a run.

I also knew there was a possibility that we’d have pancakes for breakfast, and what I DIDN’T want to happen is to have my fella get up and start making pancakes while I was still in a state of indecision – because I’m afraid the pancakes would have won hands down. My goodness! The dilemmas that face a woman when she wakes up on a Sunday morning!!

In the end, good sense won out, and I dragged myself out of bed despite the heavy weight of resistance and got out there and did it. Phew! That was a close one.

P.S. The pancakes were great.
