Day 40 – Week 6 – 6 mins
Everywhere I go these days, I’m hearing about consistency. I’ve read it two or three times in the last week, heard it discussed in podcasts I’ve listened to, it’s even come up in conversations that have had nothing to do with this blog.
But the message is clear. The way to achieve anything is to do it little and often.
And who am I to disagree? It’s working for me. I’m already feeling my legs get stronger, there’s a little definition in my arms, and I believe I’m even beginning to get a little movement on the scales. The dial was flirting with 145 pounds this morning, three pounds down on my return from Ireland.
This morning I did my five minute arm warm up and one minute stretching, and now that’s 40 days of exercise under my belt. It’s consistent, and that’s why the changes are beginning to happen. I just can’t wait to find out how it’s going to feel in another 40 days.

Day 39 – Week 6 – 6 mins
5 minutes on the bosu and one minute stretching this morning.
Not a lot else to add today. My fella has just got back from a ten day trip away and we have a lot to catch up on…..
No time for blogging….

Day 38 – Week 6 – 6 mins
Some days are just a lot harder than others.
Things didn’t start well this morning, when for the life of me, I couldn’t remember whether I had done cardio the day before, or strength. This of course meant I couldn’t remember what I was supposed to do today.
I’m serious, it took me several minutes to figure it out. I nearly had to go and look up this blog to remember!
Anyway – got their eventually – and did my arm exercises. And even that was hard. I have to say, I have pathetic arms. I even give up on drying my hair with a blow-dryer before it’s finished because my arms get tired. So, when I do my arm exercises I can always feel it by the time I get to the end – a little burning in the muscle, and always the temptation to put the medicine ball down and give up. But this morning – I don’t know what was going on. Even after one minute my muscles were burning. That’s not usually the case. But I struggled on, with little baby rests in between. Man – it will be good when I no longer have pathetic arms. And just think how much better my hair will look!!

Day 37 – Week 6 – 6 mins
Spreading the Word…
Managed to get up and do five minutes on the bosu and then one minute of stretching this morning. You’ll be delighted to hear I ventured away from Pink today, and had a listen to a Lady Gaga song, which I thoroughly enjoyed. In fact the tempo of the song was ideal for stepping on and off the bosu. See – I can experiment and expand my horizons! I can be adventurous, despite all evidence to the contrary! Unfortunately I only had one Lady Gaga song on my ipod, so will have to raid my fella’s CD cabinet to see if he has any more.
I was delighted to be invited to write a guest post on the Creating A Better Life blog. So now – our message is spreading further afield. From the comments on that post you can see people are taking the oneminute+ concept to reach other exercise and health goals. Good to see.
How are you going?

Day 36 – Week 6 – 6 mins
Today I added a minute of stretching to my five minute arms workout. It does feel a little bit like cheating, going straight from what is basically a warm up to stretching, without any of the really hard stuff in between – but the truth is, the stretching is an important part of any routine. And I looooove stretching, so I think that after five weeks I deserve a bit of a reward – I mean – it’s a pretty healthy reward, right? It’s not like I’m buying myself a big piece of chocolate cake.
Our overall routine must include several minutes of stretching at the end, so I am going to be slipping them in to the workout from time to time as we go along.
I am thinking, that if I’m stretching every day – it really, might just be possible that by the end of my year, and I can once more do the splits. What a bonus that would be!
So – five minutes of arms and one minute of stretching – that’s my six minutes for the day. How about you?
